I read your book and found it devastating, unsurprising, and very well-written. As an international adoptee, I’m closely watching how the book is being received in the adoption community. I believe it’s an important piece of work, and I would like to help publicize it in any way that i can. I would also like to know if the author will be doing any appearances in the New York City area. Sincerely, Kristin Pak
Erin - update on the Encarnacion Bail Romero/Moser case in Carthage, Missouri. On July 18 the local district judge stripped Romero of her parental rights and awarded the Mosers an adoption of her son.

Though the decision will be appealed, this sets a dangerous precedent for the case in Liberty, Missouri as well. Once again, the argument “well after all this time, it would be traumatic fo tear a child away from the only home he’s ever known” argument rears its ugly head. Reading between the lines, “He’s better off with a rich Anglo family than with a poor immigrant mother, even if the law was broken to get him.”
The Mosers apparently have a website praising themselves but it links to the actual decision.
